Southsea Sub-Aqua Club is a branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club. In fact, we were the 9th branch to ever exist, hence our club number – 0009!
We train to internationally recognised standards from Ocean Diver to Advanced Diver and have completed some of the UK’s most known and most important diving project work.

We have members from Ocean Diver to First Class Diver and BSAC National Instructor, and everything inbetween.
If you’re looking to continue your training, Southsea Sub-Aqua Club is the place to be.
We can teach up to BSAC Advanced Diver (the highest level you can teach in a club) and regularly run courses and mentor people through all levels.

We’re not just limited to diving. Want to learn how to blend your own gasses? Drive a boat? Fix a boat? Adminster life saving first aid? We can teach all that and more in-house.
You’ll receive nationally recognised qualifications and learn a whole range of new life skills along the way, some of which you may never have even considered.

Local diving
We love the South Coast. After all, we’ve been diving it for 70 years and we even found the Mary Rose in the Solent!
Some of our favourite sites include Selsey Beach, Mixon Hole, Chesil Beach, the HMS A1 submarine, Tanks and Bulldozers (our own discovery), Mulberry Harbour Units and more. We know all the local sites, and even were the first to discover and document many of them.

We’ve travelled the length and breadth of the UK in search of the best diving.
Our expeditions give members the chance to develop new skills, discover a rich maritime history, and dive in spectacular locations beyond our usual club sites.
Our projects are renowned nationally, and even internationally. Our most famous project, the Mary Rose, continues to fasinate millions to this day. In more recent years, we’ve even done projects for the French government.
